FAB Charleston, SC
Some of you know this, but there is this conference that I try to go to every year in Charleston. It is called FAB and it is for women in the food and beverage industry. Women restaurant owners and bar owners, and some of their employees fly in from all over the country. I believe there were 400 of us this year. It is 3 days filled with seminars, one-on-ones, inspiring speeches, and really lovely food and wine. I believe this was my 5th or maybe 6th year attending and I can’t say that I necessarily learn something every year, but it feeds my soul. I am reminded of things that I should be doing, or should not be doing, and that I do not need to reinvent the wheel, and that I am not alone.
I know that every day I try to show up and be the best version of myself for my team, and my community, and my family, and my friends. I know that owning a business is hard and that owning 2 businesses is exponentially harder…but I also know it is the most rewarding thing I have ever done. I love making chocolates and I love watching people eat my creations and seeing the blissful looks on their faces and knowing that I brought joy….pure joy into their life if only for just those few moments. I love going to FAB because I am always surrounded by women that share that drive and passion.
